Never been on one, so can't say what they're like.

What if they got rid of the boat and had a round tub instead ? Speed up the water, allow it to spin around a bit??

I don't really like them versions with the round tubs, the spinning is actually quite annoying, especially when you're trying to look at things.

There's no point changing the boats, nothing wrong with the current ones, just need more :)

I have been thinking about this ride and my idea would be to call it "Tales of the unexpected" with different things happening as you go round the tunnel with a big surprise at the end.

But there wouldn't be anything to look at, the idea is your spinning around in complete darkness, maybe with some lights, so the whole thing is a tunnel.

Dye the water red, name it 'The river of blood' and follow Hobs example of a super dark, graphic attraction.
Kids would love it, oh and the entrance to the tunnel needs to be a waterfall. ;)

Just looked that up, looks cool, that's exactly what they need to do with TOTC.

Valhalla is amazing, but I can't see it being possible to do that with TOTC - it cost £15 million pounds to build, plus thousands each month to run due to the complicated effects and ride system.  They could however try doing something similar but on a much smaller scale.

They could do a mini Valhalla, just with out the drops. Fire and water effects would still be possible.

Would they though with PWH's budget?  It's not just installing them, fire effects are quite expensive to keep going.

I wouldn't say no to a mini Valhalla though, as long as it had a different theme.

Well it wouldn't be a mini Valhalla if it didn't have the viking theme... ;)

Wouldn't need a carbon copy, but it's the sort of direction the hills should be looking too, not so much the theme but the quality of the ride.

Call it 'Hob's hideout' and work something around that, loose connection with the Pit but family friendly, spooky than scary.

Given that Hob's Pit is ghostly and graphic, I feel like Tales of the Coast is currently just a lower quality scare story and making it more like Nemesis Sub Terra would distract from HoBs Pit?

I think it would be better off as a family friendly, humorous ride - following Sparks' example.

I don't think any photo can truly depict just how bad of a condition Tales of the Coast is in, but I gave it a go:

The sheer amount of weeds covering the rotten platform and moudly theming is mental. Why they keep this open to the public for people to ride, is beyond me.

Not ONE moving object works on the entire ride. No doors, no moving animatronics, and black dog thing has been put to sleep.

And the music is still on and off, creating a wonderfully unique atmosphere ;)

I know there are plans for this, but they would have better to keep it closed this year IMO.

The inside actually has small holes in that let light through which sort of ruins the atmosphere as well. I rememeber in the not so distant past when it was actually pretty decent.

People suggesting a ride like they have at BPB haven't got the right ride, for me the ride would be better in a river caves type ride where it's a gentle boat ride but with a small splash at the end for a little bit of thrill.

Does anyone know why this ride was removed? It would have made a great fairytale ride like it was originally.

Apparently they wanted to redevelop the aria.. but all they've done to put a waveswinger in it's place and it's all a bit empty and boring.. i reckon they didn't didn't want to spent a penny on it, and not having it is cheaper than having to keep it maintained. People are saying even Hobs is run down so it seems the park can't look after it's dark rides.
