15/03/17 - Everything we know so far...

We have studied the 2017 map, so you don't have to... It's all part of the service! With just three weeks to go until Pleasurewood Hills reopens, here's what we know so far;

  • Enigma becomes Cannonball Express. Sound effects and theming elements will feature.
  • Rattlesnake is now permanently closed
  • The children's play park has been moved close to Balloon Rays
  • The tearoom near the miniature railway entrance is now a sweet shop
  • The Merry Mariner, while still standing, will be closed throughout 2017
  • The catering unit next to Balloon Rays has been renamed to Bear Necessities
  • The high-dive show is not expected to return this season
  • The park plan to introduce new entertainers around the park
  • The park have purchased new pedalos to replace the old ones

Keep your eyes peeled on Unofficial Pleasurewood as we continue to bring you all the latest updates ahead of opening day.

All in all, a very disappointing year.

The Tearooms are now a sweet shop... Really?

and the Merry Mariner closed too? I believe, that was the only place on park to get something remotely different to burger and chips... unless someone can inform me otherwise.

With Rattlesnake a dead redundant space, Merry Mariner a dead redundant space, and the castle not being used other than it's entrance... Somethings gotta give, surely.

I'd also add, wasn't it remaned Christine's just a few years ago? This won't go down well with people just wanting a sit down whilst kids off on the rides!

So not only have they closed a food outlet and the tea rooms???? Where on earth to we go for a cup of tea now? Joes??? that place will be so busy now. What a stupid crazy idea. So the old sweet shop is now closed too?

map shows the mini twisters have moved haven't they? No longer in the 'kids zone' but next to the Red barron.

No Clown Slide?

Let's just hope this is a passing the tourch year for the new manager, and they'll sort out the mess it's gotten into, new interesting to see what they do with the old playground and Merry Mariner

Does anyone know what's happened to that 'woody's candy hut'? It was the old sweet shop over the level crossing going down to hyperdrive and MM etc. It was between the food hut and Moby dick. I don't recall it being open last season....

Only just realised as well that the Hobs Pit shop is no more... I know they separate the queue from the shop the other year, but there's no sign of it being used for anything this year.

This was remodlled into the chicken grill place for 2016.  the old bacon kiosk unit was closed and was still standing next to this as of october 2016

No coffee shop ? what the heck !!  i know Christine, worked with her and she has been there probably nearly for the duration of the park..

In response to my recent post on Facebook detailing ''Everything we know so far...'' I have received the following comment;

''Scott, we've always wanted to visit an abandoned theme park, haven't we. We could go here this summer.''

I must admit I did chuckle slightly,and to some extent I can see why he might say that. So, is he right? What are your thoughts?

Reading about the photo booth being removed from Hobs seems odd.. i thought that was popular? at least from people watching. I guess it because they don't bother using actors anymore, and maybe the effects don't work. I won't be long before the dump the walk bit had just have the Ghost Train section.

If they didn't divide the shop and queue line up it would have made a good replacement for a coffee shop.

Wait, so the Candy Cabin closed and became a food outlet whilst the food outlet right next door (porkies) is unused? That doesn't make sense... surely porkies became the chicken place and the candy cabin is unused?

I hate Harfrey's (seems to be a magnet for bad things to happen for me, car pulled out of junction and hit me, wrote my car off). It could have gone somewhere better as far as i'm concerned.
