2017

wow that's a huge drop form 40k profit to over 400k loss, but then they had more investment so profit margin is harder to obtain. Maybe it was just a poor year all round, there was quite a lot of 'stuff' happening last year which might have effected the public.

I'm still surprised we still even have the park, it clearly never been that profitable and no wonder it's always cutting corners and being neglected.

But there's nothing for them to promote and sell to the public this year.... "New for 2017 more grassy lawns" lol I guess they could push some of their current favourites.. get MM, Hobs and Enigma back in headlines.

Oh well, hopefully they do better this year.

Just heard an advert for Pleasurewood Hills on Radio Norwich. It said ''Celebrate your birthday in our new Birthday Barn''.

Anyone heard about this before or know where it is?

I wonder where that barn is, unless it's something they've constructed.
Think i'll have to book myself a Birthday party for July, although i may struggle to invite five people let alone 10.. yikes.

You could be right, Coolskin. Perhaps they played out the advert too early. I dont think they are anywhere close to opening it yet, from what i've heard.

That could be a possibility, hence it's available to hire all year round.

I like the idea of the name containing "barn", as that does imply that it'll have some sort of theme, but "birthday" would be an odd choice!

But it could be misleading, people might think it's like the 'Moo play barn' at Brampton.

Edit:  I think The Moo barn has closed..

A pic on Facebook shows some new signage, showing people where the rides in the park. Looks nice, but I'm confused as to why Jolly Roger is red? I'm guessing the colours were chosen to match their thrill/family category, but I could be wrong!

Well heard on radio the hills have a rainy day guarantee offer, meaning they'll guarantee a rainy day?

I hope it's not as awful as the rainy day guarantee at Fantasy Island. Their terms are insane....

- The rain has to have closed at least 6 rides
- YOU have to have ridden 2 rides or less...

Where as other parks just have the usual, if it rains for more than 90 minutes you get a free return ticket, regardless of if the rides have closed or not.

The site says.

Don’t let the weather spoil your fun! Our new Rainy Day Guarantee is available to everyone who pre-books their silver or gold tickets online. If you purchase your tickets and it rains on the day of your visit for more than 90 minutes at once during park opening hours, we guarantee you a free return visit to the park.

What's a silver and gold ticket?

Gold is a standard adult ticket and Silver is a standard ticket for under 12's.

Well that's good. Odd that it doesn't apply to people who pay on the day though. I guess that's because they can check the weather and choose not to visit, but sometimes it's not as simple as that, coz England...

Seen a pic on Facebook showing the Merry Mariner Inn the distance, it's been completely repainted on the outside.

Are you 100% positive? I certainly don't remember seeing it look like that in 2015!

Recent vlog from Andy at coaster crazy on you tube. Really like Andy and his vlogs but have to say some of the park looks terrible and really run down. Very sad to see my home park looking like this now. Check out the vlog though. youtu.be/IPANizpclB0

I don't mind Andy, but he hated the place before he visited so I wouldn't take what he said too personally really. He didn't even go on the best ride - Jolly Roger.

I agree though that from his pics the park does look a bit of a mess. Lots of dead and long grass everywhere, which is odd as landscaping is normally spot on at PWH.

The bottom end of the park looked bad enough as it was, but Rattlensake is closed its just even worse. Painting the fences pink isnt going to do anything...And what's the random signs with different countries on all about?

I hate that they removed Tales of the Coast, but they've done a good job of land shaping that area and making it look pretty, why can't they do similar to the bottom end?

Had Hyper Drive of gone down there, plus a returned Snake, and all of a sudden that area looks fine, but as it is it looks like the pits.

When it was announced that it was being removed they said that a company would be coming in to dismantle it that week. I'm guessing a lack of funds has meant it's stayed put.

It really is worrying times for the Hills...

Well i guess it's not doing any harm but it certainly gives off the wrong impression., almost a year and nothing has been done about it. Mind you.. it been 4 years and TTT is still broken from what i know.

Not a great photo but but it's all i could find..  it shows what it was like under the Rattlesnake (2008)
It was a swamp, we (me) had to dig quite a few deep trenches to drain the water away from the feet/supports under the tunnel.  Wish i had taking more photos. pwh.jpg

Tide traveller was still broken the other week. The motors sounded a bit dodgy compared to last year, I don't think they were kicking in as much (certainly seemed even weaker than last year on ride). Fireball was better than usual though.
