RE: 2016 Park Map

Well! I must say that to pull down TOTC and just stick the old flats on its place is unforgivable. They could have knocked down the tunnel and just had it as an outdoor boat ride. I dunno, seems to me like a terrible waste of a great ride system and and waste of space! The only saving grace is what I can imagine will be a great view from the entrance through the rides whereas before it was blocked. This does confirm the dive show is returning though. Still nothing in the castle theatre though...

Things to note:

- Sky Hooks has gone
- Looks like there's a new pathway crossing the miniature railway to the new area housing the Waveswinger, Red Baron, Woodycopters and that small kids Twister ride.

So for the first time in a long, long while, we have to say a fond fairwell to some rides. Tales of the Coast and Sky Hooks bite the dust :(

Whilst a large Waveswinger will obviously be better than Sky Hooks, I did like what they done with it, actually landscaping it and giving it a proper queue line was a nice touch, so it's a shame that all has been wasted.

And obviously it's genuinely quote heartbreaking that they've removed a dark ride :(

The lack of a number/listing by the dive show got me thinking, so I checked last year's map where it does have an attraction number and it is listed under the shows category.

I suspect that it isn't returning (which is what we were told).

Unless they will release a second version of the map later in the season which will include the dive show? It seems odd that the structure would remain drawn on the plan if it is not expected to return.

As Martyn said, looks like the old chair carousel is gone near the ponies and with the dive show not having a number next to it, it could that mean it isn't a certainty.

Couldn't PWH have the landscaping with the Waveswinger as they did with Sky Hooks?

Clever map design - its makes the park look jam packed with attractions. But I hear that in actual facty there are large areas of empty space.

Yeah I'm hoping they'll do a good job with this new area. Would be good to see a thrill ride added to it at some point.

But, they still need a proper kids coaster. Still can't believe they don't have one yet.

Also just noticed that they still class Hyper Drive as a thrill ride.... and Marble Madness as a Family ride...

I guess only time will tell but the more I think about this the more I come to the conclusion that they have not got a clue..!

The only positive thing that I can think of, is that we now have one less dilapidated ride.

There's a possibility TOTC is still there but not drawn on the map as it's not in use, sometimes theses maps are not very accurate. But i doubt it.

I don't see the point in moving the kids twister or woody copters.. what's the point?
And now Sky hooks is gone it's going to leave a huge empty space. Yet they KEEP the old dodgems. wtf?

They've also removed the kids go kart track by the looks of things, and with the twister moved that aria might also look a bit empty.

So does this mean TTT is working ???
I reckon the dive show will be back for the summer season.

Hyperdrice is not a thrill ride! (Timber falls isn't either) maybe MM maybe should be labeled as such.

Pfft, lost all faith in the new direction the park is going in.

Woody's driving school is still there Bubbles.

I can see why they've moved some kids stuff in with the new Waveswinger, but it does open up more empty land.

IMO they should have left TotC as it is, but keep it closed and mark it is an area for future development. Stick the new Waveswinger in front of Wipeout or next to Rattlesnake.

I have just had confirmation from the park that the High Dive Show WILL be returning in 2016 during summer. If you look closely at the map you will see two asterisks, they correspond to the text at the bottom of the map which says "Throughout July and August only".

Also possibly worth noting; the decision to remove Tales of the Coast was made by park owners, the Looping Group.

Oh yeah, i see 'Woody's driving school'

Maybe in a few years time we'll look back at this and consider it the best thing to do. Al depends on how they now develop the area or if they build new boat rides or dark rides somewhere else in the park. But it might all look a bit dull and bland, lacking variety. I would not be surprised if the Castle gets demolished next as it's never used anymore.

Like someone else said, the castle would be cool if it had a ride inside, an interior coaster would be amazing.

"Lacking variety" - perfect words Bubbles.

Did the loopings group have a change of ownership over the last 2 years? Or did they buy PWH within the last 2 years? Just seems weird that they were so good up until 2014. And now all the bad decisions are suddenly "The looping group decisions, nothing to do with the new park manager I swear..."

Things went from 'little park thinking big' and all ride installations and theming would be to a similar standard to Hobs pit.
to 'Fab fun' awful dodgems and pulling up infrastructure.

(i do not mind the waveswinger, i'm ok with that, but removing the boat track was a waste when it could have replaced the old dodgems, or gone behind wipeout (it'll look good from the car park)

I just hope they do have bigger plans in sight. Maybe it wont be long now till they out the place up for sale.

France has the overall say on budgets and control at all times yes

The castle could house a good dark ride IMO, it's an impressive facade and given the right theme could work wonders for the park. It seems that in 2016 we have actually lost a ride from the lineup rather than gained one, with two rides leaving the park and only one being introduced (which is very similar to one of the removals anyway).

When I read that TOTC was to be demolished I expected better than a Wave Swinger, it would have been more beneficial to the park to retheme TOTC in my opinion (it could have even been quite good as an outdoor ride if it was themed, had a good soundtrack and some water features).

No boat ride to theme and look after = cheap and cheerful.
How much longer Hobs pit will run for might be a concern.

I wouldn't worry about Hobs going anywhere. It would look terrible from a public perspective to get rid of such a newly opened ride.
