Hyper Drive Dodgems - New for 2015

We'll carry on the discussion of the potential 'new ride' in here, just to save the general 2015 thread getting clogged up.

Official clues so far:

(Could someone be a doll and get that latest pic in here, please? Too much effort on mobile. Ta)

RE: New Ride for 2015?

Here it is. I've been having a look around the net at various parks seeing if I could recognise it but it's like looking for needle ins haystack!

Most Pirate ship type rides would have this kind of support structure. I'm not suggesting it is a Pirate Ship, but it could be something similar.

Could it be something like a disc'o style ride,? Either that or i'm thinking like a permanent version of that SeaStorm ride

But why would they release a photo of the canopy supports? The new ride that those might be connected.
Maybe they are going to remove the train a put this new ride in it's place?

Bubbles, they didn't actually promote the image as anything to do with this new ride, there was just a caption about it being a frosty morning. It looks like it's focusing on MM.

And I only count 8 supports, not that many really.

The mystery of the green supports has been solved! Do you think they will put that back up?

I count 10 supports in the actual canopy picture. Are we sure it's them in the MM photo ?

Yeah I think that confirms that.
I don't know what they've taking it down if they plant on putting it back up, Unless it's getting a paint job and it's better to get it in the workshop than have to risk the bad weather.

I wouldn't have thought it's better to get it in the workshop. You only need 1 dry day to paint it and for it to dry.

lol Been Decorating for 15 years I wish it was that simple and easy, id be a lot richer if that was the case, If the Temp is too low it wont dry, paint just wont evaporate, last time I was painting supports at PWH I had to spend a day with a hammer knocking off all the rust and treating that, and they were very fussy about it, Would be quicker and easier and sometimes cheaper to just put a new one up. Can't apply the 2nd coat until the first is dry and this time of year it's unlikely to dry within a day or two. That's the trouble I had painting the log flume and Rattlesnake. (Unless it's a 2pac gloss that'll dry)

However I doubt they would go to those length's anyway just for a quick paint job, but it is a possibility but not likely. When I was there we deliberately took things into the work shop to make sure we had work to do if it rained or got too cold, usually new panels, or parts, ticket booths, benches, ride cars, occasionally supports and railings.

My guess is it wont be going back, but maybe it's all rusty and broken and roof leaks.. maybe it in need a good repair job.

If the train is being removed this new ride might take it's place, and there for it could be a kids coaster, it would seem a logical place to have it. Or the Train will be movies some place else.

I think the train underneath is probably or potentially in poor condition - not sure - a new ride here is a good idea yet we do have the railway next to it

I think a kids coaster would most likely go in the kids zone.

And whilst removing the train and platform would create space, I wouldn't want them to put a ride there, right next to the Flume. I'd personally rather see that area grassed over and landscaped.

But it is a large ish area that could do well with a ride there... Speaking of which a new picture/teaser of it has been released to social media this morning

Yeah it's not exactly giving much away!

My money is still on a circular, dated flat ride.

It definitely reminds me of a old school flat 'ride car', like a Trioka.

Both very similar rides coolskin. If they done a straight swap, I wouldn't have thought they'd advertise it as new. They're too similar. L

I wouldn't want to see the train replaced with a ride either, they just got away with having Moby dick along there.
But I don't think there's much space left in the kids zone? I could easily got were TTT currently is.

Anyway, I look forward so something retro and awesome, I did like that Trioka I don't think it's one of them.
To be honest I wouldn't be too surprised if TTT will be properly repaired this time.

There is quite a bit of room left in the kids zone, mainly around Wave Breaker. And opposite Wipeout would be a good move too, it would give a nice balance to the area.

So, I wonder where this is going....?

I guess where depends on if it's kids, teen/adult. I think it's more likely to be teen/adult as not sure a kids ride would get so much teasers ? There is room opposite tower drop by the fence, bu tidal wave down the side as we are expecting the dive show to return, by the TTT or in place off, land next to fireball yet this will require levelling and then there is the old land that time forgot area. And yes I know I ramble !

I didn't think there was any land left near the Wave breaker (not counting where the dive show is)
It all looks full from what I can see from the map and various youtube videos.

I still reckon it'll go where the flying school is and they'll move that to the kids zone, that was on the cards a few years ago. I agree it's been too hyped up for a just a kids ride, unless it's a proper kids coaster.

I also think TTT will remain where it is, optimistic they will eventually get the correct parts for it.

You could be right on the Flying School location. That plot is crying out for a major ride.

Take a look on Google maps Bubbles, there's loads of space around the Wavebreaker.

yes I did say a few weeks back it may head onto the former cine 180 site... yes bubbles lots of room down the side of tidalwave and it was last year that some trees were taken down too or maybe 2013 cant remember now - a low ish key ride here would not cause too much upset to the residents over the fence
